If you want the benefits of foil assist without the “full eFoil” bulk and drag, this is the cleanest way in. The Duotone Foil Assist Complete AL is a genuinely complete package built around the Duotone Midfish 2026 and Glide 2.0 front wing options, with the motor integrated inside the mast and the batteries worn on a waist harness. The result is a setup that still feels like “real foiling” — just with a boost when you want it.

Where It Sits In The Duotone Electric Range

This Complete AL package is for riders who want everything matched and ready — board + foil components + assist system — with minimal decision fatigue.

  • Want the best value and a tough, everyday system? This AL (aluminium) Complete Set is the sweet spot.
  • Already have a foil board and foil you love? Start with the Duotone Foil Assist Set AL (mast set) and build around your existing gear.
  • Want the lightest, most premium version? Look at the Duotone Foil Assist Set D/LAB 2026.
  • Brand new to foiling and want maximum stability and reassurance? The Duotone Foil Cruise Set AL 2026 (and the Duotone Cruise Air eFoil Complete) are more “beginner-first”.

Why Choose This Package?

  • Keeps the foil feel – batteries sit on your hips, not on the board, so swing weight stays low and the board stays lively.
  • Boost when you need it – get up in marginal wind, punch through lulls, or link waves without the “one chance” pressure.
  • Low-drag design – folding prop opens for power, then closes when you’re gliding so it doesn’t feel like towing a bucket.
  • Travel-friendly batteries – compact packs designed around the typical airline 160Wh limit (always check your carrier).
  • Modular upgrade path – as your quiver grows, you can adapt the system to other foils with the right fuselage adapters.

Midfish Board Size Guide

Pick your Midfish size based on your weight, confidence level, and how “easy” you want the take-off to be.

Board Size Length (cm) Approx. Volume Best For
5’2” 157 cm 38L Lighter riders, tighter feel, more performance once you’re up
5’5” 165 cm 48L Most riders’ sweet spot: balance of easy starts + manoeuvrability
5’8” 173 cm 58L Heavier riders or anyone prioritising the easiest, calmest take-off

Need help sizing it properly? Tell us your weight, ability and sport (wing / prone / SUP / downwind) and we’ll recommend the cleanest option.

Choosing Your Glide 2.0 Front Wing

  • 900 – faster, more agile, best for lighter riders or higher wind / stronger skill base.
  • 1100 – the go-to all-rounder for most riders: early lift without feeling huge once flying.
  • 1350 – maximum ease: earliest lift and most forgiving in light wind, chop and lulls.

We’re happy to sanity-check your wing choice against your weight, board size and local conditions before you order.

FAQs

Is this a full eFoil?

No — it’s foil assist. You still ride and control it like a foil (wing, prone, SUP, downwind), but you can add power for take-offs, lulls, linking bumps, or getting back out without burning matches.

How long do the batteries last?

Think of it as session support rather than constant throttle. Most riders see roughly 35–55 minutes of assisted use per charge, with around 45 minutes being a very realistic benchmark depending on rider weight, foil size, speed and water state.

Can I fly with the batteries?

The packs are designed around the typical airline threshold (approx. 159.6Wh per battery), but rules vary by airline and destination. Always check your carrier’s current lithium battery policy and travel with batteries as required by the airline (usually carry-on, not checked luggage).

Which Midfish size should I choose?

If you want the simplest, calmest route to consistent take-offs, size up. If you’re lighter or you want a tighter, more performance feel once flying, size down. If you tell us your weight, ability, and sport, we’ll recommend the best match.

Which Glide 2.0 wing is best?

1100 is the safe all-rounder for most riders. 1350 is the “make it easy” option for light wind and heavier riders. 900 suits lighter riders and higher wind, or anyone prioritising speed and agility once up.

Will it work with other foil brands later?

Yes — the Foil Assist Mast AL is part of a modular ecosystem. With the right brand-specific adapter fuselages, riders often expand into other foil families as their quiver grows. If you already own a foil, message us your exact setup and we’ll confirm the cleanest compatibility route.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Foil assist makes learning easier because you get more take-off attempts and more time flying, but it’s still a high-speed sport. We recommend sensible safety kit (helmet, impact vest/wetsuit) and starting in appropriate conditions. If you want the most beginner-first option in the Duotone line, consider the Foil Cruise Set AL or Cruise Air eFoil Complete.
