If you want the calmest, most confidence-building way into assisted foiling (with everything in one box), the Duotone Cruise Air eFoil Complete is the “easy mode” setup. It’s built around the Duotone Midfish Air inflatable foil board (approx. 115L), the big Free 1500 front wing, and Duotone’s 80cm Cruise Assist mast with an included prop guard. Add the waist-mounted batteries, eHarness and ring remote and you’ve got a genuinely beginner-friendly platform that’s ideal for first flights, families and centres.

Where it sits in the Duotone Foil Assist range

This is the most forgiving, most “ready to ride” Duotone option we stock for new foilers.

  • Choose this if you want maximum stability, softer inflatable board feel, and a complete package tuned for easy take-offs and mellow cruising.
  • Choose the mast-only route (and build around your own board/foil) if you’re already foiling confidently: Duotone Foil Assist Set AL.
  • Choose a more performance-led complete package if you want a stiffer board and faster progression once you’re up and flying: Duotone Foil Assist Set Complete AL with Midfish foil board.
  • Choose D/LAB if you want the lightest, premium feel from the mast system: Duotone Foil Assist Set D/LAB 2026.

Why people choose this package

  • Lower stress learning curve: big wing + forgiving board + calmer Cruise mast response makes first flights feel far less “twitchy”.
  • Safer shared use: the included prop guard is ideal for beginners, families and schools.
  • Real-world runtime: roughly 35–60 minutes depending on rider, foil and how hard you lean on the trigger (around 45 minutes is a realistic benchmark for many riders).
  • Quick charging: fast turnaround (around 45 minutes under normal conditions).
  • Travel-friendly storage: the Midfish Air packs down (and the assist system keeps battery weight on your body, not the board).
  • Future-proof upgrade path: the Duotone Foil Assist platform is modular, so you can evolve the setup as your skills (and priorities) change.

FAQs

Is this a “full eFoil”, or a foil assist system?

It’s built on Duotone’s Foil Assist platform (mast motor + waist batteries). The feel is much closer to “real foiling” than a heavy dedicated eFoil, but this complete package is tuned so beginners can cruise and learn comfortably.

How long does the battery last in real use?

Most riders see roughly 35–60 minutes depending on body weight, foil choice, water state and how much you use the trigger. If you ride it more like a constant-power eFoil, expect to live nearer the lower end of the range.

Which eHarness size should I choose?

S–M covers 71–89cm waist (28"–35"). L–XXL covers 89–114cm (35"–45"). If you’re borderline or ride in a thicker winter suit, L–XXL is usually the safer bet.

Do I need to use the prop guard all the time?

For beginners, families and centres: yes, it’s a great idea. Once you’re confident, you can remove it for maximum efficiency (the guard adds a bit of drag, so runtime can drop slightly when it’s fitted).

What rider weights does this work best for?

As a very workable guide, this is brilliantly forgiving for most riders up to around 110kg on the Midfish Air platform. If you’re significantly under ~65kg and already foil confidently it can feel very “easy”, and if you’re well over ~105kg it can still work but it’s worth a quick chat so we can set expectations and help with settings/foil choices.

Can I upgrade the foil later or fit other brands?

Yes. Duotone’s Foil Assist ecosystem is modular. With the right adapter fuselage you can later plug in other Duotone wings or (with the relevant adapters) foils from brands like Axis, Lift, F-One, North, Code, Gong, Sabfoil, AFS and KT. Browse adapters and spares here: E-Foil spares & accessories.

Can I fly with the batteries?

Each battery is around 159.6Wh which is designed around common airline limits, but airline policies vary and you’ll need approval. If travel is a big part of your plan, tell us where you’re going and we’ll help you sanity-check what’s realistic.
